Profiling Sark and the next chapter of Husky football

Sarkisian I read a great article today by Dennis Dodd.  He’s profiling Steve Sarkisian and his job of building the huskies football program from the ground up.  I admit I am as excited as anyone else for the upcoming 2009 football season.  But I don’t think it’s going to be as rosy as many people think it will.  I don’t see the dogs having a winning season nor would I even think of them going to a bowl game.  It’s my guess that we will come out with three or four wins.  Sure I think we’ll beat Idaho and we’d better win the apple cup since it’s at home.  But the only two other schools I feel we have a chance of beating is Stanford and UCLA.  That gives us four wins.

Regardless of how many wins we get I think we’ll see definite improvements and the fans will be back.  I’m just waiting for the first home win – I can guarantee the fans will storm out onto the field.

Huskies spring football game

washington_logo_2007 I attended this spring football game at husky stadium this past weekend and liked what I saw.  The biggest shock to me was lockers improvement.  He was 16 for 18 for a whopping 89% completion percentage.  Sure this was against one of the worst defenses in the country last year but at least it’s an improvement.  Husky stadium was packed, it almost looks like a normal game attendance.  Montlake was backed up so bad it took me over an hour to get out of the parking lot.  Looking forward to next year.

Apple Cup at Qwest field?

seahawks-stadium-qwest-field There is talk about moving the yearly UW – WSU football game, also called the Apple Cup, to Qwest field the home of the Seahawks.  I don’t know if it’s a good idea but I wouldn’t mind trying it.  I think I’m in the minority though.

Left hand update

My doctor gave me my final steroid injection in the knuckle of my left hands index finger.  It’s a strange sight to see a needle embedded deep in your hand.  As those few CC’s of liquid were injected I could feel my finger blowing up like a water balloon!  The soreness is almost gone but my hand doesn’t feel a whole lot better :-(.
